Hitachi 59 disc tray will not open

I tried flashing a Hitachi 59 last night. JF said the flash was successful, but the drive will not eject. I open the drive manually and power the drive up and the tray closes, but when I press eject on JF or my CK3i it will not open. I also tried the drive in the Xbox and the drive will still not eject. There is no movement from the drive when I press eject, any ideas

Have any of the ribbons come out? also try pressing eject 2 or 3 times on the console.

Or does it respond to eject in jf or on the dashboard of the console

I had one that did that manually open the drive tray and look for the rubber band on the big and little runner wheels. Take the band off now this is gonna sound mad but boil the kettle put the rubber band into a mug wait for the kettle to boil then pour the boiling water into the mug leave it for ten seconds then put cold water into the mug this will cause the band to shrink

Dry the band and put it back where it should be and see if that works

Its sounds more like its still in mode B for some reason, if its trying to eject and not doing then above could work as ive done this with quite a few liteons

Its worth a try like but if it was working fine before flashing he may have inadvertently shorted something.

As long as he's got his drive key he will be ok the worst scenario is a new drive.

I have my drive key so if I do need a new drive that will not be a problem. I thought it might be stuck in mode b but I thought as soon as you turned the power of the drive reset. I will have another go at flashing back to stock and reflashing. It this fails I think I will buy a new drive.
