please help.first time flashing which unit should i buy

as the titles says,i have 2 units to play with should i use maximus new ALL-IN-ONE 360 Xtractor tool It supports a POWER KIT + SERIAL RS232 & USB Tool in one. or should i go for Xecuter Xbox 360 Connectivity Kit v3 Pro + Probe Bundle.all help thanked in advance.

i use the Xecuter Xbox Connectivity Kit v3 Pro with the probe

the bundle pack offer is a good price as well

done 9 liteons so far since i was advised to by a kit
and the kit is simple to use as well

i also use jungleflasher as its also simple to use
and i found it easier to get the key off of the liteon using jungleflasher than the ck3 software

i have a unit with the latest iXtreme 1.51, i want to read it and flash it again back to
1.51 for practice as i dont want to mess up my niece and nephews drives. i would rather fluff
mine than theirs i have my dvd key so no problems there.will be using Xecuter 360 Connectivity
Kit v3 Pro + Probe Bundle, i have downloaded lots of different guides.will also be using new
jungle flasher 0.1.55. JungleFlasher which will work on most SATA chipset.not sure which guide
i should follow to do what i want to do.can any one point me in the right direction please,

it all depends on wehat drive you want to flash
but jungle flasher is simple to use
i use it to get the key from liteons rather than the ck3 software


let us know which drives so we can then sy which guides we would say to follow

if you look at this older guide for the liteons
you will see how easy it is to get the key than it is using ck3 software

yes i know its an older version of jungle flasher but the method is the exact same in the new version

one hitachi 79.to flash each one 3-4 minutes start to finish,1st one took 15 mins to take apart 2nd one
8-9 mins using home made plastic tool.will get proper tool now,

i just use a small flat screwdriver to open the outer case
works perfect and i can stip a box down (motherboard out if rrrod fix needed) in just a couple of mins
if its just to flash the rom its even faster.

i wouldnt waste money on that crappy tool

my nephews friends un-flashed 360 will only play dvd not games,i said i would have a look.i understand that if change the dvd like for like, i need to put the old controller card on new dvd so he still has his mac address for xbox live.

if i replace a faulty reading dvd drive, which has ixtreme pre-loaded,with a new dvd drive (same make model),and i
swapped the controller card from old drive to new drive,would i have to re-flash the drive.thank you.

It's not the MAC address mate, it's the DVD key.

You said that the box was not flashed, now you are saying it has iXtreme installed?

As long as the original controller board is in good working order and you are putting the board in an identicle replacement drive then you will not need to flash anything.

The problem here is, if the drive is not playing games but it IS playing DVD movies then that would indicate a problem with the controller, i.e bad DVD key or faulty circuitry, so if the key is ~~~~ed then it still will not work even if you place the board in another drive.

can you get the key off it ???

to test the key you could spoof another drive with it and test the drive in that box to see if it works..

if you are getting another drive to replace the knacked one why bother changing the board ..

if its a brand new drive just load the key onto it from the old drive...
that way its a new complete drive eliminating the possibility of it being the board thats knacked


but remember to keep the key handy
