Moded 360 xbox problem.

Hello guys,

Here is the story... I just found my old xbox which I haven't used for like 2 years. Before that I remember, I gave it to a guy who modded it for me so I could burn and play newest games. I don't really care about playing online. All what i want to do is just to burn and play newest games like fifa 13 etc.

I plugged the console in and launched dvd burned games like tekken 6 or fifa 2010 and they worked perfectly fine. Next thing you know is that I downloaded latest fifa 2013 and console is asking me for update in order to play this game... I searched for some possible solutions but as a complete newbie I am lost. Installed update from november 2010 and it went fine but game still wouldn't run. Then I downloaded latest update from microsoft and on the end of updating it threw in 66 error code.

P.S... My xbox is probably one of the first models... there is one picture:

I am looking for someone who could possibly guide me thru the process of modifying my console to play newest games. I don't really care if I will get banned from xlive because all what I do is playing offline. I can provide pictures and other necessary information. Just let me know what.

You need to return drive to stock and run the update or have someone do it for you.

Which drive is in the xbox i cant tell from the image. Safest is always return to stock then update, reflash

Also what dashboard is on the xbox now?

The problem would be that I had my stock drive damaged and replaced with a new one, most likely different. Is there any way to do it without replacing the drive? Also how can I check my dashboard version? If I'd provide pictures of the ejected drive would that help?

You just flash the drive firmware back to stock. Run update. Flash back latest cfw.

Also check dash version under console settings

Could you please guide me thru the things I have to do? Unfortunately I am clueless in this case and around me there is no one who can do it for me. I can even pay thru paypal if everything will work good.

i flashed a xbox like yours with a x360usb pro v2 as i only have a laptop
the xbox had a samsung drive in as i just followed jungleflashers tut which can be found on there website (google it )

Take it someone who can update it for you

As your before xdg3 dash if you updated u run the risk of bricking the console.

However even if it was not bricked the drive would be in a stock firmware as sammy drives are patched.

Either take it someone or buy the kit to do it yourself

If there would be someone who could do that for me I'd do that for sure, although there is no one who can do it for me, so I would rather do it by myself.

Bricking, means that I won't be able to use it anymore, right?

What kit should I buy? Could you provide me with some links? Are we talking about x360pro? There are few versions, which one would be the best to get?

Thank you for the research! I tried to purchase the Usbpro but the cheapest shipping method is $32 which comes up to over 100$... I found one guy in my area who gave me estimate $80 to update it, not sure if that isn't too much again for a service. I wish the whole thing would be a little easier. Yesterday I tried to play and 3rrod showed up so I heated the console and it came back to life again. I guess in order to fix it I'll have to take console apart, so maybe while cleaning it I will also take drive out and flash it. Would there be any cheaper cable which would allow me to connect my drive to my laptop besides usbpro? Thanks once again! I really appreciate your help!

im sure i read a bit a go that you can flash a samsung drive using a usb to sata cable or sata to sata and using the consol to power the drive its the only drive you can flash without all the connectivity kit but you carnt go on line with it.

i would say to follow this you want lt 3 firmware and make sure your console is on the latest dash,like i say i did read about this awhile ago and it might not work any more with the latest firmware, some one here might know

Bin it once you get the rrod the xbox won't last that long, the first xbox's were rubbish,get one off ebay or gumtree with lt3+ installed won't cost that much.

I figured that I probably won't stick with this xbox for long... Do you guys have moded xbox 360 for sale? The only problem could be that I live in Canada so there could be problem with cables and voltage and stuff :-/ If anyone would have one of these by the chance please let me know cost + shipping to canada. I am looking for one which would allow me to play newest games. Thanks!
