Quick question Ixtreme 1.51

Already have 1.5 on my box and want to upgrade to 1.51.

Thing is the person that flashed my box never gave me the keys etc.

Do i need these in order to flash again via sata and jungle flasher?

Its a liteon drive.

Cant find a simple answer anywhere and dont want to try in case i brick the drive.

you will have to get the keys off the xbox in order to make your custom firmware.

1.6 is due to be released today so i would hold on for that.

Just hook it up to your pc using sata and power it with the xbox's own power supply (some people say its safer to do this with the av cable plugged in since less errors are logged).

Then put the new firmware file in the relevant directory, read the old firmware using jungleflasher and it will auto generate the new firmware file which you can flash with the click of a button.

No reason to wait for 1.6 imo, all it adds compared to 1.51 is the ability to go into 0800 mode in order to rip games. Not needed unless you rip a lot of games.

Yeah you will i am affraid unless your good at soldering, i aint so bought the kit.

Also with 1.6 there is the built in stealth checks again also it will not boot hybrid games that have wave 2 video that should be wave 3.

And yes you will need the old keys or how else would it work, if i am missing something then please tell me.

If you dont have or cnt get the key then you cant make your cfw making the flash going to be wrong. I would suggest either getting the kit or getting someone to get it for you, if you get the keys on a cd or memory stick then you would be able to update it yourself as and when needed.

Just found out you dont. JF can extract the keys through sata. Proving the drive is not a original drive.

You can use jungleflash to extract Dummy from Ixtreme 1.5 Liteon Drive.

never realised that so now i know, i have always re-probed the drive
