swapping samsung (TOSHIBA) drives

Hi was either going to swap the laser from the Toshiba I have (broken one) with the one that works but then though it would possibly be easier to just extract the key from drive number one and put it on drive number two only thing I'm not sure on is one has fw25 and other has 28 would that make any difference to either drive ? Thanks

The ms25/28 drive are easy to dump the fw but also easy to change the lasers. After a certain update for XDG3 games they all become MS28 anyway
