I am trying to flash a samsung drive and it timed out during flashing with jungle flasher. This shut down my xbox and has screwed me pretty bad. I can not move the mouse, load files, or do anything with my computer if my xbox is on. it is completely frozen. it was suggested to use iprep 008.8 to get my xbox working but every time I try to load some firmware, it says no valid firmware loaded. Please help me restore or flash or fix my xbox so I can do anything with it.

restoring the drive's
- Now this is very easy -
Samsung Drive
- All you need to do is open the backups/12334567/12345 folder -
Now cut the "SAM-CFW" to desktop so you only have the "BSAM-OFW" in the folder -
Then just rename the "SAM-OFW" to "SAM-CFW" like pic below-
- Now all you need to do is boot the usb device and run fsam 1234567 12345 -Comment

Hope u still have your key.
What you will need to do is:
Create a win 98 boot drive.
Copy dosflash over with a CFW for a sasung drive.
Boot from the boot drive.
In dos you will need to type, dosflash with the drive powered on, then power it off, type it agin, you should get a message retry until drive responds, power back on then type y, you should then get a status of 0x70, thats it in vender mode.
You want to copy over your firmware now, should be something along sam_cfw.bin to write to the drive, this should then write to the sammy and restore a firmware to the drive so u can flash again from jungleflashersigpic

my samsung drive is currently lacking firmware, it timed out during the writing in the beginning and I have been trying to fix it. Therefore I have no firmware to read, but only to write.
When I try to boot from my USB drive, it will not boot. It just loads windows vista like normal. If I can get it to boot from USB, then I hope I can do fSam xxxxxxx xxxxx and put some firmware on my samsung, so that it works again.Comment

I rebooted computer, went into setup, went to BIOS features and put the boot sequence with USB first. I also disabled boot options 2 and 3, so that the only boot option it has is to boot from the USB. It says:
Boot Failure
Reboot and select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device
Press any key when ready
I used iprep 008.8 to create my bootable USB. The USB has the following files:
Backups folder - empty
CFW folder - with SamCFW in the folder
DosFlash
DosFlash.typ
dSam
FirmTool
fSam
I have tested my USB stick on another computer and it boots from the USB and loads the software properly, but that computer doesnt have a sata port to connect my xbox.
Am I missing something?
Also, if you see the first post I made, ANY time I turn on my xbox, my computer is frozen to where I can not do anything on it. So, I dont know if this problem needs to be fixed first because I assume during dosflash I will have to turn on my xbox and from all other experiences, my computer freezes every time no matter what Im doing.Last edited by jman0110; 21 June, 2009, 01:23.Comment

Forget i prep for now, what you need to do is get your pc booting from a usb stick. The way i do it is:
HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 Download - EXTREME Overclocking
Download the hp formatting tool for usb sticks, also the win 98 and create your usb boot device.
Copy over dosflash and your custom firmware.
Try to boot from the device once you tried the above.
Once in dosflash try what i said in other post, once in vendor mode (x70) copy your custom firmware to the drive.sigpic

I downloaded format tool and win98boot files. installed format tool and extracted all files from win98boot.rar to a folder on my desktop. I ran format tool with my
device as USB drive
file system as FAT 32
volume label as NEW LABEL
did NOT check for quick format (so it performed the long format)
checked create DOS startup and browses to the folder where all win98boot files were extracted to.
This finished and said everything went fine, so I opened the USB stick to put on dosflash and samcfw.bin, but the stick was empty. I put the files on anyway and tried to boot, but no luck.
I am not sure if vista is messing me up with this stuff, but I would like to uninstall vista and install xp. However, it seems to be not very easy to do that.
Also, would I still be using win98boot.rar to do this or is there a Vista or XP one that I need?
And I beleive I should be using dosflash16 with dosflash.typ copied to my USB?Last edited by jman0110; 21 June, 2009, 18:15.Comment

When you are selcting boot device in bios, whats the order of devices, also what other devices are available?
Once its created, once opened it will be empty unless you alter the folder veiw options to show system and hidden files.sigpic

In BIOS features, the boot sequence is USB first. There is an option for 2 other devices, which are cd/dvd drive and harddrive. I disabled boot options 2 and 3, so that the only boot option it has is to boot from the USB. It says:
Boot Failure
Reboot and select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device
Press any key when ready
This message keeps displaying untill i go back and and allow it to boot from harddrive as normal and windows loads.
This is the only computer that I have with a SATA port on the motherboard, but I am going to borrow a friends later to see if I get different results.Comment

Well I tried 1.62; however, I maybe dont have the original firmware on the samsung. I really dont know what firmware is on it, but it wont play burned games and does play originals. In jungle flasher, it wont go to vendor mode, and in iprep, it says unknown flash chip.Comment
