Been a long time since I went hunting for lost files.
But I'm unsure that it will show anything up.
Like I said it was overwritten by DosFlash32, not actually erased/replaced. I think that's some bad wording on my behalf.
And I was in WinXP at the time, so it was on a 500Gig, very used HDD, so I think a program to search for deleted files may take days, and come up nothing. Not to mention it's not my PC, so I don't really have access to it often.

Nice suggestion, and I'll look at it, but I think I'll get a pre-modded Arcade unit ant put it into my Elite casing (so it's all black).

I've been experimenting with various file recovery programs, and I've been creating different kinds of files, overwriting them and trying to recover the old version. But I've had no luck.
And one of the programs I downloaded almost killed my Mac OS X setup from within the Windows partition on my Mac, so I've stopped before I cause any more damage.

I think I'm just going to get a Core or Arcade, might even scour e-bay for anyone selling just the unit.

It's been an interesting few days, but I'm not getting my hopes up again, I've given up.
        Thanks once again.
