After a bit of advice

Hi all iv'e been out of the xbox scene for the last 12 months or so....
just getting back into it....

My question is i have set the xbox 360 slim backup for the grandson....all games play ok (pre 2012)

Stuck Moto Gp 2 2013 & world rally championship 4 into today the disc asked to update the box....

The dash is on it is 2.0.15574.0 & i have now found out the latest is 2.0.16203.0....i would guess this is the reason the games will not play...

I have the liteon slim 1070 drive with the Freedom Matrix PCB board in it..LT3.0

can i just update the drive via disc or do i need to flash back to stock before the update....then reflash with the LT3.0

Its always recommended to flash back to stock firmware then update to latest dash via flash drive then reflash back to custom firmware, had to do it myself recently with my 0225 drive, latest dash is 16547.
