ixtreme 1.5 or 1.6 ?

Hi guys i am flashing my philips lite-on drive but i don't know which ixtreme firmware to use 1.5 or 1.6 what is the difference ?

they both play wave 3 but 1.6 has a few extras , u can insert an old copy by using a start disc and copy original game on the xbox drive , always best to put the newest one on

As a rule you should always go with the latest firmware (1.6 at the moment).
I think you mean 1.51 and 1.6. The only difference I know of is that 1.6 can rip backups whereas with 1.51 you need to insert the 0800 before ripping. If you don't rip a lot of games I doubt it matters.

edit: Oh yeah and 1.6 has more checks but tbh you should be using abgx before you burn games anyway!

Liteon, benq, sammy drives all are upto 1.6.
Hitachis are 1.51.

All of them boot wave 3 games. 1.51 will boot hybrids but 1.6 wont as default, only way to get it to do so is by using the image that comes with the firmware.

Always run .iso of a game thro abgx, this will tell you iff good rip or not, check my guide, again posted on here.

I am new to the Xbox360 scene can you explain what you mean by 1.51 will boot hybrids but 1.6 wont as default !

I am in the process well at the end of the month buying a new Xbox 360 and its been patched by the store for a few extra quid the patch will be the 1.6 version, I have already downloaded and burned games also received working copys of games from Friends..

Am I going the experiance issues or what do I need to watch out for ? I know all about Abgx and burning method but is there any thing else ?

An hybrid disc is a disc that has had the video partition adjusted.
When the new nxe was released, ms intoroduced a new partition that ixtreme 1.4 wont boot as it only sees wave 2.

So if an xbox 360 is on 1.51 below that cant see the new partiition then it will not boot the disc, the 2 ways round this issue was to either update to 1.51 or swap the from wave 3 to 2, but that could warrent an xbox live ban.

1.51 was released to combat the wave 3 issue, which was really 1.5 but with the built in stealth check lowered, so would boot a disc that was adjusted to wave 2 from 3.

1.6 wont by default unless you use the built in iso with the firmware.
