    flashing xbox

i have just had my xbox 360 flashed at a local shop..

i have been reading up on how u do this for later use and people say use jungle flasher and you need the model of the drive. to do this u need to open up the xbox to gather the info from the drive.

my question is when i took the xbox into the shop it was flashed in about 5-10 mins, while i waited. before this was done i asked if they wanted the model of the drive and they said they didn't need it.

How did the flash the console if they didn't open it up, to get the model number??????? are there other ways of doing it?

and it works fine, plays all back up games that i download.

well he must of been fast cauz like i said it was all done in about 10 mins max....

and if so why didn't he want the drive model when i had already opened it and got the info myself?, and it took me about 20 mins to open up the console, but that was my first time..

You can tell the make of the drive without opening the xbox. But YOU MUST OPEN IT TO CONNECT THE SATA LEAD.

With jungleflasher i can open, connect an 360 drive and flash within 10-15 mins. Sammy/benqs quickest, hitachis = a pain = liteons easy

he must of been harry potter then.

it was definitely my console i had back cauz i opened it with a pair of scissors, (not having the opening tool), and leaving noticeable signs of me doing so.

by the way it waz an Hitachi 79.. does that mean its a bitch to flash means i have never done this b4, or do i just keep on taking it to the shop to get done?

and another thing how long would u leave it till you get the console re-flashed with the newer software?

With an hitachi 79 (not done 1 personally)

You would return to stock (all hitachis) Then flash with new firmware.

No he not harry potter to open 1 in few mins, as said before its easy to open 1 with right tools

I find the Hitachi fairly easy to flash.

Done both 78 and 79 successfully.

And depends on whether you want to learn how to flash and are confident with pc's.

Or if you would prefer to stump the small charge to get it done from someone else in 10 mins.

With thr ight tools and experience you can flash a drive very quickly even liteon 7 and 8 series v1 the lite on 8v2 and 9 series take longer due to soldering required for a good repair.

I flash all drives and do repairs aswell i just tell people google my user name.

I did mine last week, first one ever and its a hitachi and i rekon I did that in about 20mins start to finish and as i say that was my first, took a while to get it to play backups but that was eventually down to crap media. I rekon if i did mine again i could probably now do it in just a few minutes.

Only ever flashed hitatchis, and I used to do them the old way in under 10 mins. You can open the box in 2 mins with the right tools.
