    xbox controller help

Had my xbox for a good 6 months. Not used it much. When using the re-chargable battery for the controller can anyone confirm for me what the red and green lights are??? I assumed red charging, green full.
My controller is dead, last about 3 secs and dies. plugged it in to charge, light is red then 10 seconds later goes green.
Left it connected to charge while playing for about 30mins(light on green) . took lead out, controller died.
    I need help PLEASE!!!!

My friend has the same problem.

Try a New battery as this battery may have lost its charge.

If the light shows on the controller ok then the lead looks as if its working ok.

Take the battery off the controller and get some IPA Alcohol(or some aftershave or perfume, both have high amounts of alcohol in them and can be used to clean) and some cotton buds. Soak the cotton bud tip in the ipa or aftershave/perfume and clean the small gold contacts on the battery and on the controller. Sometimes they get gunked up and this can cause the not charging properly problem.
