Can All XBOX 360s be "Modded" atm?

Ive read the sticky and downloaded Xbox 360 Guides upped by Cunny.

Before I do this ( I done one before a few years ago)

The Xbox I have is pretty new ( I got it for ?40 with 9 games)

Anyhoo....Mines is as follows

Liteon Slim - Model DG-16D4S Firmware Version 0225 Hardware Version A0A0

All these guides are a few years old, and so Id rather have up to date Info. I will record my Modding and upload it for DK.

So, I recall the one I did I simply powered it on from its own power lead and used the sata port inside of my PC. So, tell me, I didnt need them then, do I need these "X360USBPRO" additonal hardware bollix. I did it with soldering a power lead with a few wires and running JungleFlasher.

Cunny, you seem to know a fair bit so if you read this, Id appreciate a pointer. I know I dont need to buy a probe and all that. In fact I think everything I need is in a junk drawer here.

On these drives, it all depends on the SPI version. There are Winbond are MCIX. The drives are locked and dependant on the version you have, is the method you need to use to unlock the SPI.

MCIX - Sputink ( Requires either a small pcb or probe along with a trace cut then repair, the pcb is perm an easier to unlock in future if required)
Winbond - Requires drilling into the SPI to cut a wire inside to unlock the SPI

All the info is available in the Jungleflasher manual and YouTube

You can also get replacement PCBs for the drives.

If your not bothered about Xbox Live, consider the RGH, allowing you to run custom code and games from HDD

As for the Drive being Liteon Model DG-16D4S 0225 FW. I recall the last one I did was Liteon (forget firmware etc) and I made something like this and it worked when I ran JF at the time.

I recall following P?g? Mo Th?in Guide and had no probs at all. Sputnik is all on youtube and all the rest, but I like forums more for proper up to date stuff like this..

Which solution do you recommend I have done a lot of modding over the years. Going right back to the Jerrold CFT 2100 chips. well PIC16f then the 12c509 Automapper came out.... Ahem...

Again, its dependant on the SPI on the PCB as to method used, These chips unlock to differant methods

Easiest way to tell is hook it upto jungleflasher and once the inquirey has ran, it will tell you the version on SPI on the PCB without having to manually look.

The method you used above is for drive info (Key, inquiry etc) retrieval for Phat liteons. The drive you have can be dumped from Jungleflasher without any extra hardware (compatable chipset will be needed) but to unlock it to put a CFW on it you will need to use the method stated above for your SPI version.

there is also the xk3y which will allow you to play on xbox live and run games from a hdd saveing you buying verbs dl discs which are not cheap ,but you need to to get your drive key for it to work,

i Just use the kamikaze hack for bothe mcix and winbond, got them down to a "T" now.

The phat liteon pcbs can also be used with LT ultimate 2 ( use at own risk )
