Noob here, Can I go online with original games if my firmware is modded?

My mate knows someone who can flash the firmware to play copies, but Im sure I read somewhere people are getting banned on microsoft live?

Is it because there going online and playing with the copies or does it do somethin to your xbox that microsoft can tell?

Any advice would be good guys, Just wondering if I should buy another one to mod to play copies and keep one for online play.

    Thanks in advance

If your 360 gets flashed to latest firmware, your games are ran through ABGX and verified, played online after officail release date, then you have a good chance of not getting caught, thats what i have done for nearly 2 years.

Also yes you can play orinial games once the drive is flashed.

Thanks for the rapid reply mate, so as long as you play after the release date(with a copy) they wont catch you?
Or can you you play online with the copies?
As far as I knew, I thought every disk thats released has a unique code thats embedded into the image,so if someone else logged onto the server with a copy of it,they are able to tell?
