    how can i check if my dvd drive is dual layer burner??

    hey all im not sure this might sound realy dumb but i know i have a dvd drive that burns dvds? and after reading the tuts and posts on here i realise you need a burner to write on DL dvd's. im was wonering if ne of you guys would know of a way to check if it is a DL writer drive?

    sorry forgot to mention i have tryied to google the dive name nothing realy came back as a defo answer.

      Your drive is an LG that is more or less universal, in that it burns -r, -rw, +r, +rw and RAM formats. It also handles dual-layer versions of both DVD types

        my dvd burner dont say anything about dvd r dl but it still burns games for me i think any dvd burner works for dual layer dvds

          I already knew mine could but you could download a program could Everest by lavalys. This breaks the specification of your computer down individually, on here it can tell you what disks your drive supports. I'm sure there is an easier way but I find this to be a handy program when fixing friends computers etc.
