why dont new xbox 360 games i downloaded work on my flashed hitachi 79 xbox 360

i recently downloaded need for speed shift, fight night rnd 4, and batman. im burning them as usual using img burn. My xbox 360 is not recocnizing them as games and on the dash board it just says play dvd. all my old games on my harddrive burn and work fine. i cant seem to work out the problem.

ive got a flashed xbox 360 with a hitachi 79 drive i cant remember the firmware version but i flash it about a year ago using slax. can anyone help?

what firmware would you recomend to flash on then??

i thought iextreme v1.51 have the wave 3 patch in??

Yes Ixtreme 1.51 does.

Always use the latest software.

Ok here the thing.

Ixtreme 1.41 and earlier DONT support wave 3, this is the video partition that the newer games that are coming out with.

I poionted you to that thread due to the fact its all explained in there. Granted an old thread but will answer all your questions.

You have few options. Reflash to 1.51 (hitachis) Or patch the wave partition to wave 2, this option is only recommended if u either dont care or banned off live.

u must update to 1.51 (for hitachi's) and 1.51 or 1.6 for all other drives

1.5 was never released for the hitachi 79 in question, but yeah was released for all other drives, and does not support wave 3

ok thanks that clears things, ive checked and found out i have iextreme 1.4. i need to reflash to 1.51.

can anyone help me on how to do this as i understand its a different method. i been looking at something called jungle flasher. can someone please give me a step by tutorial, im confused on a couple of things.

1) last time i flashed my drive i had to put my drive into mode b by booting from slax cd, do I still need to do like this or does jungle flasher use different method.

2) my drive is already flashed so do i need the 79 unlock file?
