    Replacing Samsung with Hitachi Drive

    Hi

I have a samsung drive in my xbox, but seem to be getting dirty disk errors sometimes, I tried Dirt 2 and as soon I finshed the first race it comes up dirty disk error every time.
I did verify the disk and it was fine.

I am running older firmware but would this cause this error on some newer games ??

Is it possible to swap a samsung drive for a hitachi if I extract the key from the samsung drive and program it to the new hitachi drive. Or should i just stick to the same make and model.

Or what is the best replacment drive to purchase, the reason i was thinking hitachi is becasue I have an xecuter usb360 sata to usb for flashing..

    Thanks
    JJ

I would either go with a banq or liteon drives, if the hitachi fails the new update it will brick the drive, all other dives are recoerable in dos
