Any problems with new Xbox??

My lads birthday in two weeks and he really wants an Xbox 360.

Are there still issues with new xbox these days? red rings of death etc.

My eldest lad says there are still problems and to avoid, but I think he is just being an arse, he always likes to have new stuff and the youngest has always had second hand.

Well personally the 360 is always gonna be scarred with RROD but to be honest its the older models that go mostly, the new Jasper motherboards are supposed to be allot better.

Personally we have 3 with mine being the oldest (2 years) and no trouble. Also ms have extended the RROD and E74 errors to 3 years so if it does develope a fault then your covered with this.

Thanks cunny, I didnt think they could keep churning out faulty consoles, but the wife, well, you know.

One more thing, some great offers, ?199 for xbox, fifa 10 and Halo. But whats the difference betweek Arcade and Elite?? any thing major? I did ask in the shop but the lad just said one has more memory!!

The elite comes with 120gb hdd the arcade comes with just 512mb of internal memory.
All other hardware is the same apart from that. Dvd drives are same and all can be flashed to play copied games also
