Modern Warfare 2 - Unreadable Disc Errror

Hey guys,

Basically, last night I downloaded Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It is region free, and it is a RETAIL RIP. I burned it to a Dual-Layer Verbatim DVD+ blank dvd yesterday, which I use for all my games and they work flawlessly.
I know, however, that this game is a wave 4. I have the iXtreme 1.6 firmware. I downloaded the activate.iso file and burned it to the first layer of another verbatim dvd. When I booted up my xbox, I first put in the activate.iso disc. A white screen with black text came up that said "To use this disc please insert it into an xbox 360 console" then a bunch of different languages following it. Once this screen came up, I popped open
the drive and took out the activation disc and put in Call of Duty: MW2. I clicked "Play Game" in the dashboard, but a message popped up that said "This disc is unreadable." It didn't even have a chance to load to the main menu of the game. Underneath it said to either clean the disc
with a soft cloth or contact customer support. I obviously did choice one. There were/are absolutely no marks on the dvd, and my laser in the xbox is working perfectly. This is my second time experiencing this problem, I tried it with a different CoD: MW2 download with a different Verbatim DL DVD. What else could cause this error? I know it's not the laser in my drive because every other backup I have works perfectly. Please reply, I have

Just try the game without your hard-drive connected, see if that works. That way you know it's not your firmware.

If it works, i hear it something in the new wave 4 update, that wont update patched games. So without the update, you can't play the new games.

same problem here mate an unreadable disc i heard it might need iextreme 1.6.1 to play these new wave 4 games.

try removing the hard-drive first, if it works you know it ain't your firmware

How do u no its a retail rip?it cant be verified on abgx till release date.my copy works fine with a boot disk but has been patched wrong so wont boot on 1.61 without the boot disk

I hear it's the patches it self that won't work with the new wave 4 update, u need to update to play them, but the update won't work if it is a patched game. Oh and out of curiosity does it boot ok without the hard-drive connected?

Its patched with the wrong files so it won boot unless you use the boot disk with or without the hard drive on.you need the correct files off a retail disk for it to work but obv there not out yet unless u patch them with some others but mine was already patched when i downloaded it.what do u use to downloaf?i have a nzb file for it but you will have to download it again when a good copys due out so It can be correctly patched.so its not really worth it as it will be verified in a few days

I don't play online so i don't mind. All i did was use my friends latest update on his hard-drive by connecting up to my xbox and the cod 6 game booted up str away, your right the update on the backup it self won't work. My xbox was flashed in jan 07 and the firmware is something like 1.3 or 1.4 and i have a samsung drive, Lucky or what.

ok i have the same problem as all of you and thought for a sollution. we need to get that update in the hard-drive . how can we do that?

did you run the downloaded game through abgx to confirm it was ok to burn??

i did but since this is a wave4 game the abgx can't tell you if it's completly ok....so no luck with that

it should confirm that the game is ok but you will need activate iso or iextreme1.6.1 to play it.

i was going to try updating offline but the bill gates curse came back i got the 0110 error on my 360.....so all system's hold for now
