Just Been Banned

One of my xboxes has just been banned from live, i think microsoft can now tell if your dvd drive is flashed because i have not done anything suspect and all games have been checked on abgx, if anybody has any info please post

information that would be handy.

"What where you doing when the hammer fell?"
"What firmware revision do you run and on which drive?"
"Do you have any backups installed to your hard drive?"
"which was the last game you played?"

The reason no one can figure out how a ban happens is directly attributable to there being very little information reported on the ground bar the usual "IVE BEN BANNED!1!!ONE!!11"

I feel that if people posted as much data as they could accurately recall, then eventualy patterns would emerge and causes would be known.

Unfortunately i don't have much information as it is one that i have done for somebody, i am wondering if he has burned his own games though and not tested them properly.....

I will find out what i can and post back

Banned

Mine just got banned never played a game before release date and never had hard drive on when playing checked and patched games with abgx plugged into live and signed in with no disc in drive and the hammer fell using a liteon drive with ixtreem 1.6

i upgraded my firmware from 1.51 to 1.6 on a liteon drive yesterday, i played cod6 for 30secs to make sure it worked, with the Ethernet cable disconnected from the console. 2day i removed cod6, installed cod5 original game, plugged back in the Ethernet cable signed in, then got banned trying to go live......

got no games saved on hdd, and never gone live with backups..

figure that one out???

now i need a new console to go live...

Just more proof that they are detecting the flashed firmware. It seems obvious to me that if your drive is flashed, and you don't want your box banned, you should stay away from live until the eggheads at ixtreme figure this one out.

There is far too much evidence now that M$ are detecting firmware. Perhaps if we give it time (a month or so) for M$ to increase their sales of new consiles enough and ease off on the current banhammer - it will be OK to go back on live.

i think myself this is a sign of things to come. there are theorys flying around.. one quite plausable one is that people just download region free games with out knowing where they from.... if MS are able to tell where the game was ment for i.e america whats a english person doing with a NTSC game the day of release.

others are they know what firmware your running...

also on other forums people are saying that the egg heads who see what MS look for in dodgy consoles are seeing no change in that...

with project natal needing software developers they need to purge as many pirates as they can or companys wont invest......

maybe they just banning random people if you flashed your xbox you aint going to ring and complain are you.. if you dont you would....

Theres nothing wrong with this as you can order games from other countries as long as they are region free and play them on your console.

Also what if you had an ntsc console in the uk.

Say an american student over to study for the year brought his box over.

Nothing plausable about that theory.

I have no longer have a flashed xbox , but I have been reading that some non hacked boxes have been banned as well .

maybe cod was released by MS for this exact reason !!! ( them are just my thought on this)

This is down to playing pre released games and also ABGX maybe mistakes bade by them. We have seen this before.


For all of you who think that by pulling the ethernet/wireless is ok to aviod a ban, I would state otherwise.

I think that if you play a game off line, this info will be stored loacally, possably a nand chip inside the box itself, then once connected to live, then relayed. That in turn will flag your account for a ban.

I wonder if people playing with an xbox with no hardrive and just a memory card have been banned, because violation info may be stored on the hard drive, but then again it could be stored on whatever memory device you are using, the possabilities are endless
