You already have another thread open with the same question near enough?!

As in that thread, go but the Team Xecuter RROD repair chip from mrmodchips.com for ?4.99

You get everything you need in there.

Ha, so you've opened a thread asking about 5mm bolts and washers?

Then a thread asking about nylon washers and plastic alternatives? How is it not the same thread?

Use metal washers i usualy place 1 underneath motherboard then 2 on top of each screw. The nylons aren't bad but they do tend to shrink with the heat unlike metal washers.

I also drill through the bottom of the chassis and replace the thermal pads on the chips with new pads.

Don't get many failures at all.

You can also cut the grill where the fan is ensuring more air is sucked in. Thus cooling the system more but this can also cause build up of dust if not kept in a ventilated room.

All in all tam just go for metal washers.

thanks mate i thought they suggested nylon to stop the board shorting or something along those lines.

well that will save me a trip only thing i need to do is get two screws out that have damaged heads.
