No it wont work in multiplayer, multiplayer is completely seperate from single player as can be evidenced by console commands using prefixes like:
net_graph 2
cl_gaitestimation 1
sv_map "whatever.bsp"
sv_pswd "testicles"
and so forth.
Theyre always prefixed with net for global network clientside, cl for clientside and sv for serverside commands.

Whereas single player would be more like:

noclip 1
fps_max 60
kill
violence_hgibs 1
etc.

The only way to be gay and cheat online is to script things like aimbots, pipedown, special_bhop and so forth.
Whenever a script is used its readily apparent to everyone in game too (a telltale sign of aimbotting for instance is to see a player running in circles shooting at the ground when theres noone around to keep his accuracy artificialy low to avoid detection) so even though a persons cheating its still readily apparent to any experienced players that he sucks balls. it should also be noted that if your scripting events then your client will be sending impossably high ammounts of data to the server (i dont care how good you are theres no human alive that can click the jump button 200 times a second)

The only reason i know all this is that ive administrated several different gameservers, written my own scripts and run commercialy available scripts privately with clanmates to aid detection in league environments.
I used to love spectating league matches on a server i admined and watch the netgraphs go off the charts as some kid was running in circles firing at the ground, whilst another kid was moving at 300% movement speed (which is possible for advanced players, just not up flights of stairs)
Then watch them scream in indignation once you called them out for being lamers

The best way to get good at online games is through decent communication and above average teamwork.
i used to die a whole lot playing TFC it was my job though, run into the base, spam the engineer with nades and spray the shit out of his sg only to toss all my ammo in a pack to the door as i died, respawn and repeat the process all over again for an hour whilst my team mates used the gap id made from the continuous suicide runs to cap the flag.

Then again i understood that it was a team game and i was doing my part for the team instead of trying to be some weekend warrior glory hunter.

I guess the point im trying to make is that you cant be awesome at everything, find a niche your good at and pub like mad using the same strategy and you'll get noticed by a groups who'll pick you up for a tryout, then you get to have waaaaaay more fun than you would have by cheating.
