liteon best firmware

Hi what is best and latest firmware to put on liteon ? I have version ixtreme 1.5 on xbox 360 , but want to be able to play lates games if thats possbile ? dont need to go on live ? thanks for any info .

You can flash to 1.6 on a liteon at the moment, but you will need the activation disc to play wave 4 & 5 games. Perhaps it would be better to wait until the new LT fw for liteon is available, if we believe what we read that should be 'soon'.

Hi mate, if you have a Lite-On drive in your Xbox 360 then the latest (best) firmware that it can be flashed with is iXtreme 1.6 which will play wave 1, 2 and 3 backup games but currently requires an activation ISO disc to play wave 4 games ( COD 6, Tekken 6 etc). I am unsure as to its compatibility with the upcoming wave 5 but I suggest that its probably not worth upgrading just yet, unless you purchase a new Hitachi drive and have that flashed to 1.61. Hope that helps!!

my mates xbox plays wave 3 and 4 without the boot dvd.

but will the boot dvd load up wave one eg.dead or alive 4.

the game loads up on mine but not his he got the ban yesterday as he has not played his xbox for a bit.

the thing is he still wants games.

i dont no what f/w he got but can the activation ISO disc load up wave 1 games please help.

I think you mean a Samsung - not Hitachi. Latest Hitachi fw is 1.51 whereas Samsung is 1.61. Either drive does not need boot disk for new wave games. But buying a new drive simply to play new games is like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. Best wait for new fw for liteon or flash to 1.6 and use boot disk.

Whoops!! I meant Samsung......my bad! But either way if you are desperate to play new wave games ( which isn't possible with iXtreme 1.5 ) then you can purchase either a Hitachi or a Samsung drive, ready-flashed, for less than the price of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 so it seemed like a perfectly reasonable suggestion to me and not like attacking nuts with hammers at all!!

If his box can boot wave 4 without the boot disk then it's either a Samsung on 1.61 or a Hitachi on 1.51. Thing is I can't understand why it will not boot wave 1 - it should boot any wave up to 4 (or even 5). I suppose you could try using the boot disk (my understaning is that will boot anything), but in truth he shouldn't need it. Strange one that!

just to confirm aswell Wave 5 is not up and coming Wave 5 is released in Left4Dead 2
