What firmware ?

Im a little confused , having read in some places that one can play games like call of duty modern warfare 2 without updating firmware ( currently have v.liteon with v1.5 )
others saying you need at least v1.6 ? what firmware do i need please , dont need to go online ect thanks

Yes any game from the first Wav 4.
