Does anyone have a link to a good tut that shows how to properly clean the laser assembly on a Samsung drive?

I have a box which plays fine for hours but occasionally refuses to read the disc, or sometimes it will be playing the stop with the disc unreadable message. If you power off and reload it will often work fine.

hey mate its the dvd rom drive its self. mine does the same thing and i have cleaned the laser b4 its still the same. i think to stop this happening u will need a new dvd rom drive.

Your probably right, I was thinking of just replacing it but thought I might try cleaning the laser first.

You can also tweak the laser using POT tweaking.

Google it and you'll find some goo tutorials.

You will need a multimeter when doing this.
