    modded 360

Is it safe to take updates from games on a modded 360, don't know how its modded as its not mine, a mate called me and has been told his 360 may need updated to play new games, could anyone please advise ? He doesn't use live, so just wants to play backups.

Cheers t2p, I may have got my query wrong tho, I think what he needs to know is, does his 360 need an update to play new game backups, as I don't know how its been modded (I'm guessing its flashed) is there any way of finding out the firmware on it ?

hmm i don't think there is a way but i might be wrong and it should not matter about new games normally they only ask you to update when your online so the game can transfure your game score to the xbl so should be no problems there and iff he can play wave 4 games via boot disk he will have 1.6 if not more than likly 1.51 hope this helped

yes you can find out which f/w has been flashed to the drive.
hook the drive up using junglflasher then do the correct procedure to put the drive in to vendor mode/mode b then click read/dump
