can anyone point me to an idiots guide for using this new software please (start to finish if youve got it).. I've just got a brand new x-box for christmas, so i'm guessing its a lite-on.

I've done wiis, psps, cable boxes so i'm not a complete noob, but i wanna be confident and have all the software/hardware ready before i open it up

I'm not all that bothered about LIVE! , i aint gonna be paying ?40 odd quid a year put it that way.

ALSO : Can someone recommend somewhere to buy the hardware from please ?

VIA 6421 SATA PCI Card FOR XBOX 360 Flash Repairs 6421A on eBay (end time 15-Jan-10 23:28:50 GMT)
also ull need key extractor and probe found here

u will need 2 find out what drive u have witch will be latest liteon if its latest , which means u need 2 use latest way 2 dump key
, cunny can confirm but im not sure there is a way 2 dump new drives, i havnt had 1 yet so havnt tried or read up

u will also need correct VIA card for sata connection
the correct setup meaning u unistalled all RAID drivers

u will also be needing a probe or soldering the 2 points

there are many tutorials on net mate

One more thing... is it possible to install a hacked dashboard and boot game isos off the X-box hard drive or an exrternal USB one just like the Wii can ? That'd be sweet .

Homebrew are coming up with some good stuff, dont do homebrew yet, but if its out sure it will be pposted here as a hdd launcher.
But if that did happen then, dont expect live, you would be banned quite easily

Thats fair enough , i got a gaming PC here for on-line play , X-box is mainly for chuck-the-pads-around multiplayer action.. i begrudge paying subscription anyway, just to do things most PC games let you do for free.

X-box live is full of twats anyway, A stack full of backups on a HDD outweighs pwning a spotty 15 year old yank kid and getting called a 'douchebag'.
