    playing old xbox games on the xbox360

    i have a copy of one of my favourite games splinter cell chaos theory for the xbox
    if i want to burn it to play on my 360 do i need to burn it as usual onto a dual layer disc or will it play if i burn it onto a dvd +r.

    its very different hardware and therefore Xbox originals need to be emulated in order to play.

    The bad news is that most wont play and i dont see chaos theory on this list : Xbox.com | Backward Compatibility - Xbox.com: Official Xbox 360 UK | Backwards Compatible Games List
    Double agent only by the looks of things.

    Single layer will usualy work though if the game only takes up around 4.5gb and its supported.

      ok chroma youre right its not on the list but i will give it a try for the sake of one dvd+r disc its got to worth a try.
      some other sites are saying that list is out of date and to try the game while connected to live as it may automatically update the game to play in the 360.
