xbox returns

ive looked at sending my xbox back for the red light problem but it says you need proof of purchase and i dont have it!
has any1 had this problem before?

my mates just sorted his one out took him a few mins on the phone to ms they checked there end he didnt need to send proof they emailed him postage lable all he did was put it in a box

Ok you have a standard 12 months warrenty on the xbox. But you have 3 years against E74 and RROD. There is a manufacture date on the back of the xbox. If its within the 3 years for RROD then register the console and request repair.

If the box has been opened, there is a chance that they wont repair it. I have sent flashed consoles back before now and had them repaired.

Give the xbox centre a ring, explain that the xbox is within its warrenty, but your having trouble registering the machine online so you would like to do it by phone, see what that gets you

As you were having trouble registering it seems that something is wrong, If its been banned then think it would do the same and not let you register the console. As i said, ring them and they should be able to help you further and let us know how you get on with it

Cunny your right. If the console is banned it wont register for repair as the warranty is void.

They know this because the only way to mod the drive is to open the box.

So they void all warranty on all banned consoles.

So basically the only thing you can do now is repair the console yourself or have someone do it for a small fee.

Its not banned though it only went off as it got red lights i tried to register it months ago

Did you buy it new?

Maybe the case has been changed and the serial number on the case does not match the box.
