    Getting a new xbox

Going to pick up a new xbox in the next couple of days. My trusty hitachi was banned and is getting demoted to the spare room. Has anyone had any recent experience of flashing a brand new one as I have been told they have been made a lot more difficult for ones made in the last few months. Would it be worth my while getting a preowned one from gamestation or somewhere which is a little older. I am reasonly competant but wouldn't claim to be an expert and certainly can't be bothered with any hassle of soldering or buying additional chips. I do have access to a liteon spear.

Any quick advice would be much appreciated as I want to get back online by the weekend.

    Thanks in advance

If you want to pay for the box to be flashed, get your firmware. Least that way you can update it without a kit.
I would strongly recomend a kit TBH, its so much easier, and now with the maxumus vampire/xecuter spear v2 you can easily get keys off any liteon. The kit makes it easier to power cycle the drive when flashing.

      Hi Cunny,

thanks for the quick reply, just looking at the kits now. Would this do the job and is it a good price?

would it be less hassle picking up an older second hand model such as a samsung/benq/hitachi?

Yeah but your only going to get 2nd hand 1 now. I would get a new 1 with kit.
