Sorry to hear that mate. Any mod i have got of egay have been fine.

Think its down to the person who installs them to be honest.

Check the egay account from whom you got it from and see if anyone else has left bad feedback.

Dont chuck it in the bin..Send me it. My lad would love a rapid fire controller for his xbox 360.

Or how about you tried to do something well out of your league and ****ed it up.

Your not a modding pro cause you live on this forum.

Then your using too much solder

              simple tip.

Get the smallest tip for the iron you can possibly find.
Tin everything first (tinning is getting a bead on the bit and then running any wire/part through that to coat it with solder)

Once everything is nice and tinned, clean up the contact your going to be soldering to (i generaly use acetone to make sure its spotless) then just slap the tinned wire/part onto the contact and apply heat with a clean bit.

Then run a continuity and resistance test to ensure the contact is solid, if it looks sketchy then i simply reheat with a wet bit and apply a miniscule ammount of solder.

saves stripping the traces from the board (a result of too much heat for too long whilst your mucking around trying to fix a cock up) or getting too much solder and causing a short between traces

If it looks like i applied too much solder then i just quickly reheat and use a desolder pump to remove the excess and do another continuity test to make sure its bombproof.

I just bought a third party one. You can get them from pretty much anywhere. They are called Datel Wildfire controllers. Wireless or Wired. Black or White. around ?15 - ?20. great aswell
When life hands you lemons, grab them, climb up into a tree and start sucking!

Not being funny, when i was 14 ( several months back ) i use to do rapidfire myself, soldering can be easy or hard, depends on how you solder.

i have done about 7 controllers, sold a few on eBay, done a few for mates and the controllers in my house and only one has ever been returned to me and that was 8 weeks after i sold it so the other person must have dropped it. I used a ?5 soldering iron and it works fine..

Your controller wont be messed up, somewhere along the lines solder has fallen and bridged two points in the controller.

Creating a 100% legit rapid fire with NO soldering

                    Pics will be added later
Ok guys. Here's the thing. This isnt a true rapid fire MOD per say but it does help quite alot. What it does is that instead of pulling the trigger all the way, it makes it only go halfway. Now you may think how is this useful my controller wont even work. WRONG. The command that you pulled the trigger is sent only when the trigger is pulled halfway so doing this will make you shoot much faster, much easier, and much morelegit. Another plus side is that it works for all games and you dont need to take the mod out. So let us start.

                    Things you will need...
A wooden kebab (trust me guys)
A knife (make sure it can cut wood)
A T-8 screwdriver to take your controller apart
Not required but some tape would be recommended

Now that you have that done take your kebab and chop off the end of it (refer to the pic). Your gonna want to use the size of the piece on the right

Next- Locate the right trigger apparatus. Yours should look like mine except the colors of it. Note the circled section

Now what your gonna do is take your chopstick piece and slide it into that circled hole. It should fit perfectly. If not trim it down so it does or cut another piece.Mine broke as it was cutting but yours should be one piece and the trigger pull should be about 60% down when pulled.

Now when your done put your controller back together and test it. If it works congrats! If not go back and trim it a little bit so it lets the trigger go down more. Also you can use tape if it is loose to hold it in place but if you used my type of kebab then you wont .

All thanks to Rich123321 for this tut...

                    Regards:
                    Alun
