help playing films with banned xbox 360

Hi everyone
Can enyone tell me if there is a a way to still play movies via usb on my sons banned 360, divx etc would play fine untill he got banned now it askes for an update from live ( which cant be done as hes banned).
Ive looked everywhere and all the solutions seem very complicated to a noob like me.

any help on this matter would be great

( PS. is there any way to play MKV via usb on my UNBANNED console )

hey mate no way for mkv on unbanned and with banned there is a way but u will need to fix his harddrive there is ways to set it back to a unbanne dharddrive but no way to unban system

you could always burn the movies onto blank dvd +r and play them as a normal dvd. dowload a free program from download.com called dvd flick to do this.

iff no luck mate there is programs u can use such as tvversity that will let u play films to your xbox from a banned one hope this helped
