I can only find same from xbins.

If it for ripping games i would use a 360 drive with 0800 fw (ix 1.6) as this will give you the prefered SSv2

      Cheers cunny
I have found this firmware at general-search.com but when u follow the links it wants u to sign up for a rapid share account and the homepage looks a bit too dodgy for me to put in my CC details, if I could have used my paypal I might have gave it a punt but tbh I dont fancy my account getting cleared just to hack an XBox .

As 4 the other method u are talking about sounds good if I understood how to do it and what is SSv2 ?

SSv1 is fromt the old kreon drives, like the 1 you want fw for, i dont actually think it exists as would have probably been on xbins.
As for an explanation for SSv1 and SSv2 this is a direct quote from ABGX :

‘SS v2 very simply consists of a duplicate angle value for response types 7 and 5 stored in c4eva's C/R replay table and was added in iXtreme v1.6. Older 0800 ripping firmwares and Kreon's firmware will record the angle just once, which results in SS v1. The problem is that Kreon's firmware does not do an actual measurement to get the angle, but simply uses preset angles that all games currently use and applies a small jitter to them. Storing the angle twice allows us to be fairly certain that this is a real angle measurement made by an actual Xbox 360 drive. If a game was intentionally or accidentally mastered with one or more angles that deviated far from their CCRT targets, it would need to be ripped with a drive that does actual angle measurements in order to mimic the original disc's responses. If that drive also supports SS v2 and you have the default option enabled to "Trust SS v2 angles", abgx360 will accept them instead of complaining about deviation from the (obviously incorrect) CCRT target. It will still check and alert you when appropriate about the v1 angle deviation from the v2 angle, which should be zero unless the v1 angle has been adjusted to its CCRT target by an older version of abgx360, or if a 359 degree v1 angle was adjusted to 0 for compatibility with iXtreme < v1.4. If you have decided not to trust SS v2 angles by unchecking that option, abgx360 will compare both the v1 and v2 angle to the CCRT target as if each was a v1 angle and alert you when appropriate; this is useful if you're paranoid and think someone has maliciously tampered with the angles. Note, however, that abgx360 v1.0.2 or later will never fix angle deviation or C/R data for an SS v2 without a verified ini and SS file (although it will still adjust any 359 degree v1 angles if you have that option enabled). If your SS v2 is ****ed up, something is seriously wrong and you need to rip again or use the SS provided by AutoFix, as there is no reliable way to fix an SS v2 using decrypted CCRT data’

          Thanks Cunny
I loosely understand the difference between SS v1 & SS v2 now but do I have to make the backups using SS v2 if the Xbox will never be used on Live?
Do I need SS v2 for them to play or will the games run if I used a kreon drive and SS v1.

The reason I ask is I got a second Xbox from Argos for ?100 and was going to let the kids use this 1 for going on Live with the original games they play online with their mates and I was going to get the other Xbox modded to play the copies offline.
This way I hoped to get the best of both world without taking the chance of getting their console banned as I thought it was ?100 well spent if I got most of the games free(ish) and they could still play their christmas / birthday games online without worrying about getting caught.

Only the console gets banned so if your kids one is not flashed then wont get banned.

You could happily play your flashed one online till it gets banned

AS CGS said usually only the console gets banned, if your hacking games or being obnoxious then you risk the account being banned.

We were gonna flash a xbox and keep 1 untouched for live and tranfer profile from and 2 using a mem card. I have not looked into this so cant say it would work.

Cheers CGS I havn't got any of them flashed yet but when I do it will have to be the kids christmas one because the one I bought to flash is too new and I have been told it cant be hacked yet.
So what you are saying is that if it was to get banned some time in the future I could still play all the games offline? cause I was under the impression that once it was banned the console was iether f**ked or had some sort of reduced functionality

                @ Cunny
I was thinking the same as u about using 2 as I got the idea of 2 consoles from posts in other forums as it seems quite common to work with a hacked box and a legit one for obvious reasons.
I know you can transfer your profile if you get banned but I am sure I read it is not just a case of unplugging your mem card or HD and you had to edit the files on your HD to keep your save files etc so it would be a pain if you were going to transfer it back and forth as you would have to edit it every time you moved it
