    Lite-on open tray error.

    Got an open tray error on my liteon drive. Its not flashed. Anyone know the cheapest but most permemant fix for this problem?

    sound like your laser is gone mate u could buy another laser and fit it yourself there are guides around

        i got the xbox for 17.50 , not paying more than the xbox for a disc drive. .... any other known fixes?

          it could be a busted laser,
          first open the drive with the 4 screws, get some lens cleaner and a cotton bud, give it a clean, keep the drive on wood whilst you do it stop any static,
          then push the laser as close to the spindle as you can, sometimes they dont hit all the way to the microswitch then they cant read the first part of the disk.

          if that doesnt fix it, it needs a new laser.
