    Returing drive to stock advice

    Hi,

With this impending dash update due, and LT being updated to 1.1 I thought I may as well get them both done at the same time.

I read (possibly on here) that it's recommended to return the drive to stock when doing a dash update.

There are plenty of guides for doing the actual flash to ixtreme but not much for returning to stock.

I had my 83850c done for me, and the guy gave me a copy of the firmware, but it is the hacked firmware (LT 1.0), however it has all the information for my drive key in it.

Is it just a case of following the jungleflasher guide as if i was doing an ixtreme flash, but choosing the stock firmware instead? Or is there anything else I should be aware of?

I read in the jungleflasher guide that if it has already been flashed with LT I would not be able to obtain a dummy.bin? Is this a problem?

Once I've returned to stock, I then intend to do the dash update on April 6, and then when that's done re-flash the drive with the LT 1.1 firmware. Again I just follow the guide as if was being flashed for the first time? Will I still have problems with this dummy.bin issue despite the fact the drive is back to stock firmware.

The guy gave me the firmware renamed for my particular xbox because obviously he had loads on the drive. Could it be the hacked firmware he has given me is the dummy.bin anyway? (I assume not)

Sorry for all the questions. I'm pretty sure on everything else, I just need to be sure I've got my facts right before I attempt to do it myself for the first time.

To return a drive to stock will be thro same method, vendor mode/write.

Follow the jf guide as per your drive, if you have the key, and are confident enough to go for it then create ur stock fw and just reflas the drive through the liteon erase in JF.

If your not, and want a dump off the drive, if your flashed with LT then get cutting traces ect.

Thanks for everyones help thus far.

Reflashed back to stock, did the update, which then somehow managed to bodge my hard drive up, so had to finish the update via USB stick, and then reformat the Xbox hard drive for it to see it again?

Any idea why this would have happened?

Anyway, flashed drive to LT 1.1 now and all seems ok.

Bit annoying that I lost my game saves in the HDD reformat, but it's not a huge deal as I haven't got into playing many games yet.

Found the whole process very simple and easy.
