open tray error

Hi all, on my xbox 360, when i open the drive , it says open, then after i have inserted a game and close it ,its says closing, it then says reading for about 2 seconds then it says tray open . When i eject the tray the disc has not even moved. It worked fine 3 days ago, thanks in advance for your contributions

mine did exact same thing and it ended up i had to buy a new drive and put my key onto the new 1 and works perfect now

Yeah there is a small Running elastic band inside the drive that has sliped if the cog, sometimes by opening the drive Tray you can hook it back on with a bit of wire.

Its nothing that can not be fixed, out of 10 this is a 3.

I have the same problem - I've discovered that by repeatedly hitting the top of the xbox the game will eventually load. I'm probably doing untold damage but I can't afford to get it repaired properly.

if i was you don't do that cuz you will mess it up big time.

You need a new laser. Only a tenner.
