    Help please!!

    Can anyone help?
My 360 will not load some of my new backups-how can I tell which firmware is installed. The console is approx one year old and five work, five don't.I have tried downloading the latest update and installing it via disc-no luck.Is there a foolproof way to install the latest firmware so I can do this? Intersetingly my old console merely asked if I wanted to update,I said yes and hey presto;they work on that. The newer cosole has a 60gig HD if that helps. All replies will be welcome and as ever I will be grateful to all who do so.
    Thanks in anticipation,
    Craig,
    Nott'm.

If you remove the faceplate and check it against the jungleflasher guide, you can tell what drive it is. You can also get a rough guide from the MFR date on the back of the console.
To update the firmware, its really not to difficult, or just find someone local to you to do it. All drives are recoverable (except hitchi)once you have the key off the drive, so if it does go wrong, once you have that key your safe.

The othe console could be an hitchi drive flashed with ix1.51 which will load any wave game.

      Many thanks Cunny.
Am I able to download the firmware and burn a disc?If so is it available close by?
The drive looks like it's a Liteon by the way.
      Respect,
      Craig.

        it doesnt work that way,
I think you need to read this if you want to do it yourself.
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

it involves taking the dvd drive out of the xbox, connecting it to your pc, reading the original firmware so you get the dvd Key, spoofing the hacked firmware with your drives details, and then erasing the drives firmware and writing the hacked one you made from your original.

if you dont know what you are doing, i suggest you pay someone who does. or read the fj tutorial over and over again until you feel confident with it.
