    Error Message during burning

I'm trying to burn RDR using a Dual Layer + DVD and each time I try, I keep getting this message - I've used two DVD's and all of them keep coming up with the same message, does anyone have an idea?

The first time I used 4X, the second time I used 8X

But now I'm completely out of R+ files ... So if anyone can help me guide the downloads using Dual layer R- i'd be really thankful (Note- I cant set the layerbreak position with an R-)

Thanks. I'm downloading it right now.

By the way, is it necessary to burn Verbatim DVD's or can I use other brands? I'm just using a generic brand DVD DL+ since they dont have Verbatim R+ in my area.

have a look around the threads mate some techies are saying cheaper discs are ok but the general advice on here is to always use vebatim discs. they are what i always use because they have the reputation as being very very good.

id prob say mostly down to cheap media in the case of a bad burn either try upating ur writers firmware or use decent discs. aone discs a rea good budget buy and my 369 loves them so try a few and see what suits ur 360 buddy

I agree this is bad DVD's. Maybe your burner doesnt like them.

I always use Dual layer +. Have used Datawite, Ridisk , Aone.

I have 2 burners one does not like the Ridisk Disks.

Try again with different media and its only ?20 for a new dual layer drive which may be worth buying.

try updating the fw on your dvd writer.
try the samsung live odd updater,
                SAMSUNG ODD SERVICE
it might give you better compatability with more brands of disks.

Well I use my laptop for burning/writing stuff, not a desktop pc .. That wouldnt affect me right? I've seen stuff on other forums where people have said not to use laptops for writing stuff.

Edit - I used one of the generic brand R+ dual layer DVD's and seems like everything copied well ... I put my boot up disk, take it out... put in the game I burned...and it says ''play game'' (it doesnt have a picture on the dashboard though)...but as soon as I load it up .... It crashes saying disk is unreadable error, clean with the softcloth message. I'm guessing it must be the lack of Verbatim .

Sigh, well shops are closed now... I'll try again tomorow.

Think your Xbox drive dont like Cheap Discs. Depending on the age of your console. Benq and liteon drives read anything. Hitachi's and samsungs are old and have trouble reading cheaper media.

Well I bought mine last year and I'm using the 1.6 xtreme method I think, since the only way I can play Wave 4 games is using that ISO boot disk thingy.

I'm not so sure which disk drive my 360 uses though, tried checking online but mine doesnt have a yellow wire or white wire when I take take off the faceplate and look into the hole... Nothing is in there from what I see, so I'm guessing its a Hitachi haha. Weird though, if you say the Hitachi is an older drive because my system is Jasper model as well.

Anyway, I'm off to the shops in a bit and I've got the Clone CD Program as well... *fingers crossed*

Whats the mfr date on the back. Also eject the tray on compare to photos online (use google images to search)
If your using the activate iso then it wont be an hitachi drive.
As for media, use verbs expensive but they will do the trick. You can use cheaper media such as aonne (i use them) but they can kill the lazer on the drive little flaster. I instal all my games to my hdd to aviod this

                            Manufacturing Date: 06 - 04 - 2009 (NTSC-J - Made in China)

And looking at the CD Tray design and inside the hole after you remove the faceplace, I think my drive must be a BenQ drive, although I'm not sure which model it must be, its definitely a Benq from what I gather.

As for the whole R+ and R- issue, is R+ the only way to go? I've searched the internet and many people have said they have got games to work using R- ..... In my area Verbatim DL R+ doesnt seem to be available, only Verbatim DL R-.

I cant exactly order R+ versions online either

EDIT - Ok, I'm gonna chalk it up as a faulty DVD burner on my laptop... I'm gonna try burn the game from somewhere else - How do I Put my ISO and .DVD file onto an external hardisk, I tried using WinRaR and compressing it, but still got the same message of the file being too large for destination folder?

Dual layer + are the only media i use and i assume its the only other media other people use.

Try buying a new Dual layer drive and using Dual Layer + Media.
