e64, bad flash

    e64, bad flash

    Just flashe liteon, now i get e64 error. What can i do? I still have origianl f/w with dvd key, before i get a new drive, is this one recoverab;e?

      What reivision was the drive? Also was it stock FW?

          Hi mate,
          There are a couple reasons which can cause the E64 other than a bad flash and yes, its most definitely recoverable.

          Firstly check if the drive is closing correctly, sometimes this can have an effect on the drive not being able to function correctly.

          Secondly, check your solder points if you have flashed a 8/9 series drive as a short in the drive can cause the e64 error.

          Lastly, if all of the above is fine, it is possible that the drive wasnt erased properly when flashing - re flash the drive ensuring that the drive is erased.

          If this doesnt work, use the iprep method.
