    flashing hitachi's

    hi im just wondering if theres any other way to flash hitachi drives without using jungleflasher,ive had 2 bricked now both in jungleflasher dont know why as i have done them before and with them not being able to unbrick im having to buy new drives.any advise will be great thanks

    I would look at why they are getting bricked?

    Try maximus toolbox and a slax cd

      i dont have a clue why they are getting bricked it says stable and am i ready i press yes and it starts flashing and on 3rd or 4th one it fails and then thats it drives gone

        just wondering if theres anyway round it as ive just gone into dos and that sees the drive but windows wont

            yes ive got the key and everything off drive it was in middle of writing to the drive then it failed on 1 and bricked the drive but dos still sees it but windows wont

              Why not just spoof another drive and replace it?

              New Benq can be had for ?20 now.

              The drives cant be recovered easily. Hence the reason bricked. Needs chips lifted and reprogrammed.

                i already have spoofed it to a benq,but was just wondering if i could sort the old drive out never mind thanks for answering

                  The chips need lifted and reprogrammed. That way the drive knows how to eject again. Thats why when bricked they dont eject.

                  Also rewrites the firmware back to original status at the same time.
