Its still a Liton Drive with additional Philips branding (Same Company) , the Firmware has most likely moved on a little but it should be easy enough to reprogram.
Only problem is how they have encrypted the Key of the drive & if pairing it to the Systemboard Differs from the previous models.
MS make there money from selling consoles not Games (OK a little) buy having consoles that can be hacked sells more ! and been able to ban consoles sells more, there is no way MSwill close the door on modding ....
