    flashed hitachi 3 times and still no joy

    H i folks, been having a problem with a hitachi drive that according to JF has been flashed successfully( rev0059) but every time i try to play the latest games i get the DVD or insert 360 game, iv'e had a look at the forums and this seems to be a comon prob, something to do with no LT firmware out for this drive, am i flogging a dead horse here, any info appreciated

      Hitachi firmware 1.51 will play any Wav games.

      I think that maybe the drive has a problem. Cheap media on Hitachi's arent very good. Try using a better media like verbuim disks. These work good.

      Are you sure the key is exactly as is to that box?

          yeah sounds like either a disc problem or the laser has gone if JF says you flashed good then that is prob the problem.

          What version of JF where you using? If it was the latest did it verify the key, i.e a gold key should appear saying verified!!!

              cheers folks, im sure i followed all JF instructions to the letter, using the latest JF, i tried a game that was burned to verbatim disc, but as soon as it goes in it tries to read then says open try, kinda lost here, thanks

                  Purchase another drive for the console. I like Benq Drives. Then spoof the key over and all should be fine. I have six samsung drives lying around all with laser problems and at this time my friend is using a Hitachi 47 and is having problems with certain discs to load. I know his laser is on the way out but he wont fork out the ?20 for a new drive.

                  No doubt in due course i will receive a phone call with him crying that it doesnt work at all and i will have to rush to replace it.

                  Replace the drive now and all your probs will go away.

                      I agree with CGScott - I had exactly the same prob with a Hitachi drive last week, wouldn't play latest games. Replaced it with BenQ and problem solved.

                          its not playing original games now either, i thought that i would need the drive key b4 that would work, if anyone want to take up some work i have two 83850C V2‏, + one 93450C and this hitachi that needs done, obviously i'll not send all at once but pm me with some prices, cheers
