I got a xbox360 at the carboot sale, the guy said it was ?chipped? and it come with loads of games I have also got a load of backed up games as well. It plays them with no problems but it will not connect to box live, i need to download loads of updates for my xbxo so it can stream videos like. avi,divx and loads more. So if I update the firmware on the DVD with the latest one will I then be able to log on to xbox live until the next ?wave? from xbox??

Yeah you are right it dose say this number or box has been banned and there is FCUK all you can do about it in a nutshell. So i was just putting it out there hoping that someone would say yeh you can do it just update it with X,Y and Z

Nothing you can do. The only thing MS has done is lifted the install games on the HD. In order to play divx, avi you need all the updates online.
Unless its an old xbox and you can homebrew itsigpic

ok lets just say that I want to update my xbox due to the fact that I have no internet connection. (Don?t ask)
How would I go about it?
Can you just download them all on to a USB flash drive and update your 360 that way or can you download them to a DVD and update it that way??
If so where can I get ALL the updates and what is the best method of updating?

Ok are you after a dash update, or dvd drive firmware update? Either way just have a read of the sticky's at top of the xbox section.
Dash updates can be downloaded off ms.
Dvd drive firmware updatesare best off xbin (avail in downloads)
I suggest a good read up on the sticky's and the jungleflasher guide, once you know the type oif drive you have double read that section.
Note tho, as this could be a banned xbox, if you have a expliotable dash for jtag, you wont be able to use that if you instal a dash update.sigpic
