    New XBOX 360 250GB (S / Slim / Whatever) Hacked

Team Xecuter have been working closely with Team Jungle & C4E for several weeks now on the new Xbox 360 250GB Model (some call it 360 S or 360 Slim). We are pleased to officially announce that the team has successfully patched the DVD Rom to be able to play backups.

This is the first successful step and there is much work still to be done for the general public’s consumption.

              I call BULLSHIT!

Why would you video a hack and completely fail to monitor the tray icon?

Id be inclined to open the tray from the dashboard and keep the focus centered on the tray icon at all times to show things are loading.

As it stands the video looks a little suspect to me.

I acknowledge i could be mistaken but it does seem a little off.

Why would TE/TJ/C4 make a video that would wreck the rep they have built over time? Would be counter productive to do that. It is currently under development, and will be relased when ready.

If i had actualy hacked a unit i would go to lengths to prove it, ie: show the unit being connected up to the set, show the disk going in and being read in the system icon and then boot it from there to effectively kill off any negative speculation.
The point here is that none of the due dilligence has been done.
My unit has a 250gb drive in it, i could quite easily set that up to a set and place a dummy slim in shot thats effectively hooked up to nothing. Then simply time things to make it appear that the slim is hacked.

As it stands right now the video looks and feels "off" when if there was real legitimacy there would be no need to hover over the avatar icon effectively blanking off the evidence.

Like i said before though, im more than willing to accept that im wrong here, but to me the whole thing feels odd.

As for why people woud do such a thing? i have no idea, i can merely speculate that there could be several reasons:
To put the fear up microsoft, letting them know that moving from a flash based chip to a solid rom wont prevent units being hacked after the november banwave?
To demoralise other groups working on the same problem?
To detract attention from the activity in the ps3 scene?

The simple fact is that this time round its not going to be a simple reflash of the drive board, its going to require another chip being mounted to the board; the new rom is hardcoded (as in mask rom instead of eeprom) and cant be rewritten, therefore it needs to be bypassed, expect a saturday afternoon either dilligently cutting traces or chipping off the surrounding epoxy before microsoldering a new flash to the board to accept custom firmware.
So theres money to be made from selling cheap chips at retail prices this time around, an incentive that wasnt there previously.
If everyone considers jumping ship towards the psjailbreak instead of sticking with microsoft after the banwave thats a loss in numbers from a financial standpoint, posting a fake video will eleviate this till the teams get their acts together and deal with suppliers.

Dont get me wrong though, im willing and indeed hoping to stand corrected, but theres always something sceptical going on in the back of my head.
I have absoloutly no doubt that its possable to jury rig a slim, but i dont think they've done it thus far.
