Problems connecting to pc

ive got my xbox connected to my router and into the pc.it is running windows media player 11 on xp and ive set up media sharing and the xbox has a tick next to it on the sharing menu.the xbox has also been set to be dmz so the ports are open but everytime i try and select my pc through the xbox it just says
Cant connect.Make sure you have activated this console on your computer

Have you tried putting the i.p address and other information in manually?

go adminastration settings in windows , then click services then scroll click UNP device host , click stop , then click start, apply then ok .

then scroll to and click windows media sharing click start (if it already started click stop then start) then ok .

media sharing should now work , try with the 360 if nothing changed, open windows media player . click option then media sharing check the xbox is there and click allow .
