A girl who lives 60 miles from me plans to give me her details so that i can get skyplayer on my xbox. She has the whole package including movies n sports, will there be any extra cost to her by letting me do this and if i sign up for xbox live would i be wise to register it in her name. Also apart from xbox live what else do i get for my money.Comment

sign up to live in your name, she will have to authorise your xbox (i think) via the my sky bit of the sky website.A girl who lives 60 miles from me plans to give me her details so that i can get skyplayer on my xbox. You don't hand any money over to sky.
You just need to get a 12 month subscription to xbox live gold. (about ?25)
E.g. My mum has sky basic.
She authorises my xbox via her account on the sky website to allow streaming to the xbox.
I install the sky player software and I can watch what basic package channels are available to me such as sky 1 and living and a few on demand things. Job done.
The best thing to do is just sign up for live, get the sky player software which i think tells you what to do in order to authorise the xbox. Get your friend to log into her account on my sky on the web or via her sky box and authorise your xbox.
See what's available to you.
If something is missing that you want, either pay the extra yourself via xbox marketplace if possible, or give your friend some additional dosh to pay her bill. Either way it will work out a damn sight cheaper for you than getting actual sky installed.
