e73 fault

my xbox has got 1 red light on bottom right and it says e73 it comes on everynow and again but what is the fault as its out of guarantee,is there a permanent fix as ive done the trick of utube by sticking a pin in the fan let it turn to 2 restart xbox and that works fine but verytime i turn xbox off it straight comes back to e73 error

i had this its a component error or conflict, i had to pay ?80 to ms and they pick it up fix it send it back and give u a years extended warranty

You could try the x-clamp fix. Instructions can be found at llama.com

You will need to spend about ?10 on a case opening tool & a clamp fix kit. Should take a noob about an hour or so to complete. You should be looking for a kit that costs about ?5 on ebay that includes heatsink paste & spring washers.

This may or may not fix your problem, but for ?10 outlay it's a lot cheaper than replacing or taking in for repair.
