Hi, If I get my xbox flashed, does this mean I can just use copied games?, or is there more to it?.

Yeah that is correct, it allows you to play downloaded games.

You should hold of getting your xbox flashed at the moment. Microsoft have just released a new dash and its still yet unknown as to what will happen if your system is flashed.
