Only back and bricked my Hitchi :(

    Hey Guys,

Been out of the xbox scene for a while and decided to update my FW to 1.51 so I could play wave 4 games.

However I tried to flash on a PC using Win 7 and it didnt seem to like it!! It failled at the end of RESTORE.bat

    so drive is banjo'd now!

Which drive should I get to replace it? Another hitachi or a Sammy...or maybe something else?

I won't be going online, just playing backups and ease of flashing(Hitachis seem easy to brick) are my needs.

Any info is very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Have you got your key?

I use BenQ mainly as a replacement drive, as your not going online then any other drive would be fine.

yea I have my key, made sure I ran the read.bat before it went pete tong!

So what re the pro's and cons of each drive:

      Hitachi
      Sammy
      Lite on
      Benq

ease of reflashing, online safety and FW updates...

      Thanks in advance guys

Hitachi brick on failed fw update
The others are MTK drives so a failed fw write can be recovered as long as you have your key for your xbox
