cheers cunny, i eventualy got it.

      It didnt help...

We flashed a liteon 83850 last night and it went wrong, the drives essentialy bricked at this point, you can still write to it under JF however when you do it writes banks 0~3 then verifies before giving a verification failed error.

The drive itself goes into vendor mode quite easily (we had installed the switch pcb ages ago) in order to flash it to LT, which went down fine last time around.

Now it seems it doesnt even want to accept any firmware, weve tried stock, LT, ix 1.4, LT+ you name it, under jungle and dosflash.

Once that all failed we wound up spending the night making a partition for XP, got all that set up and still the same end result. (i did however manage to flash my 7series liteon from there flawlessly)

Hes currently working on getting native dos up and running (ever tried making a bootable usb dos key? not fun) whilst i head out to work.

Any ideas on what the issue might be? all the solder joints are intact on the drives mod, the sata card flashed mine flawlessly (although i wound up using dosflash cause jf always seems to throw a fit getting my drive into vendor)
he'll try again from native dos but i figure it ust be someting we've overlooked.

You failed to mention chipset? Try another port if via? Dont suppose you got a intel chipset on your motherboard do you?
