I had my sons flashed back in july now the person is holding me over a barrel saying ?35 for the ap 2.5 update this seems really steep how much will it cost to get the gear and do the update myself and will buying the gear be worth while in the long run. thanx

I'm looking at doing the same - I had my 2 consoles flashed less than 2 weeks ago before the AP2.5 games appeared so I'm gutted as I'm expecting to be charged the same, even though I think the process isn't as involved if it's already been flashed - maybe someone can confirm this please?

If you have your key then it wont be too hard to do, just see what drive you have and have a read through the sticky's

I just want to know if you need to purchase some specific hardware or need a specific chipset to allow you to do this. If you have to buy hardware and cables and risk bricking it then I'd prefer to pay someone who knows what their doing but appreciate that this process may need doing again in the near future.

VIA chipsets are the most compatable, CK3 kits are prefered, some skill of soldering/cutting traces for MRA hack.

If only doing your own then it should be made easy as long as you have your original dump of the drive
